Blood War Battlefield Tileset
The centerpiece of Survivor, our Neverwinter Nights premium module, was a massive, entirely custom-built tileset, depicting the hellish battlefields of the Blood War.
Neverwinter Nights used a complex tileset system for environments, to facilitate ease of creation for Toolset end-users. Our Battlefield tilset consisted of over 1000 tiles and over 90 textures. I feel confident in saying that it would have been the finest tileset ever created for Neverwinter Nights. Unfortunately, the project was cancelled when Wizards of the Coast, the Dungeons & Dragons license-holders, denied approval and the tileset, around 60-70% complete, was abandoned.
Due to the massive size and scope of the tileset, every artist on our admittedly small team was involved. I would say, however, that it was ultimately the brainchild of our Art Lead, Andy "Batinthehat" Nisbet, who is also responsible for nearly all of the textures you see here.
My own humble contributions were the construction of tiles for the "Cliff" mountainous terrain, a collection of tent tiles, as well as various "transition" tiles, where two or more types of terrain would meet. In addition to some organizational work, I was knowledgeable in the vagaries of the (rather ornery) tileset system, and was able to implement and debug content when required.
